Car Hire Contract Terms & Conditions

All drivers must be at least 23 years old and have held a full Driver's Licence for at least one year.All additional drivers(4) are included in price.

Any fines or endorsements issued by the authorities while our vehicle is in your control are not covered by the included insurance. Any fines for illegal parking or driving and/or expenses incurred by such use will be paid in full by you prior to your departure from Kefalonia.

Fuel is supplied and noted at the start of your hiring term and the vehicle is to be returned with at least the same amount of fuel. Failure to comply with this condition will result in a charge equal to the cost difference between the start and finish fuel levels.

Payment is always made locally by cards(visa,master) but we do not block amounts for security deposit.

The roads on our island consist mainly of concrete and tarmac not very wide but in good generally condition for an island as Kefalonia.

You always need to drive on right hand side and with low speed as generally our roads are bendy.

While this is not intended to dissuade you from hiring a car, it does show you the importance of hiring quality vehicles with the very best insurance cover to safeguard you and your family against any unfortunate incident.

All our vehicles come with full comprehensive cover (FCDW), which includes personal accident injury. But the policy does not cover the driver whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs,if the car is not driven by the drivers mentioned on the rental agreement, or if the car carries more passengers than permitted. Fire insurance with no excess and theft insurance with no excess are also included in the price.

A Full Collision Damage Waiver is included within the price you pay for the hire, meaning that you will NOT be charged an EXCESS in the event of an accident resulting in damage to the vehicle, but with the following exceptions:

Damage to the interior, including excessive dirt, is not covered, nor is the underside of the car, including suspension, exhaust, braking systems, or engine damage, where this is the direct result of using the vehicle off of the main roads. All the above parts and the underside part of the car are still covered on asphalt roads. Also, damages caused to the car on purpose are also not covered by any insurance. The car key is not insured in case of breakage or loss.

As explained when you arrive, our insurance and the FCDW only cover you while driving on our tarmac and concrete roads. So, if damage should occur while driving off-road, you are not covered either.

There is no small print or hidden conditions in the insurance policy(traffic law or others) that will not cover your full vehicle damage in any case of accident, even if the damage caused is the driver's fault. We do cover any kind of damage to the car while it is driven on asphalt roads. Also, there is no exception to any car part damaged in the case of an accident on an asphalt road. Tyres, wheels, underside-glass, mirrors, lights, etc are all fully covered.

Also, no police report is needed in case of accident-damage of the car as we cover any eventuality,so even if your car is parked and gets damaged while you are not present, you will not be charged. However, you have to call us immediately in case of any accident with another vehicle, whether you took another person's car reg number if possible.

Our insurance covers personal injuries(passengers and third party) up to 1.000.000 euros and material damage to third parties up to 1.000.000 euros, according to Greek laws about all insurance companies and the cover they all have to provide

The prices we charge include our unsurpassed insurance, unlimited mileage,additional named drivers, all local government imposed taxes, delivery to the Airport, Lassi and breakdown assistance with an exchange car should the need arise.

Our prices offer great value when you consider what you get for your money. Please be aware that not all companies supply the same level of insurance and breakdown cover and it is your responsibility to make sure you have adequate insurance to drive a vehicle while here.

Also, with recent changes to the European Directive, motoring offences that occur within a member state of the EU are automatically enforced the same as if in your own country.
